I missed tonight's episode due to a power outage in my area (ice storm) - no biggie, I can just watch it online later... but no, ABC no longer has Boston Legal as one of the shows they offer to view online So now what? I guess I have to wait for someone to make a torrent out of it. Unless any one knows of another site I can view the ep on? Sorry, just needed to rant.

Lelennia and Ashley Joint Post two So what happens when two icon makers use the exact same caps to make a set of icons? Lelennia and I wanted to find out! We borrowed the idea from oxoniensis and slodwick, who combined their talents to make an icon post here, containing their shared fandoms. Lelennia and I each picked five screencaps from three fandoms each. Then we sent the caps to each other and each made a set of five icons in each of our six fandoms. You can see the original caps here if you're interested. :-) Multi-Fandom Bones, Supernatural, Lost, Boston Legal, Ugly Betty, and Dexter Teasers: icons here

I have a lot of fanvids (including some Boston Legal slash) planned out in my head, and I really can't wait to get started, but I need help! Can anyone here tell me how I can make fanvids on a Mac? What programs do I need to get footage from my DVDs and such, what programs do I need to edit an MV together?
I've been watching Boston Legal since the beginning, even as far back as those bits that were the end of the series The Practice, and it usually has me going to bed with a big grin. That or middle of the day, as with this past episode, seeing as it's still on my VCR waiting for me to watch. I've got a few friends that are equally hooked and one of these is from one of them and the other is from me.
As Anna is very dear to me, let's go with her question first:
1) What happened to The Squid? Kinda popped up on the tail end of last season but she made a definite impression. The last anyone saw of her she and Alan had ducked into some office (presumedly his) for a nooner and she's been off the radar ever since. My thought was they switched actors, there's one on the show now, was pretending to date the phychaitrist in that murder/incest case a few weeks back, that I've been thinking is a new actor in the same role but even I'm not sure about that; dresses the same though. So, is she The Squid and if not where's the bloody Squid done too?
2) There are a number of changes to be seen in the opening credits of the show, not to mention my personal favorite in how they list William Shatner about 5 times back to back. There is this one really odd little bit, barely lasts 3 seconds, that's been preoccupying me since the 2nd episode and as I've not seen in it the show yet I guess it's still coming. It's Denny center of the screen and on either side of him are two identical versions of Shirley. Given the sudden lunge one makes and her expression I'm thinking she's the real Shirley and not happy about whatever brought around this other one. As many liberties as the show takes I think it's fair to say this isn't a matter of cloning. Best guess...I'd say given how everybody but everybody wants Shirley so badly, including Alan which has caused a smidge of tension between he and Denny, and with the recent kidnapping; let's just say I wouldn't put it passed Denny to have someone surgically altered to look like Shirly. Either as a decoy for future malcontents or as a gift to Alan I'm not sure. Thoughts?

Led by an Emmy Award-winning cast (James Spader, William Shatner and Candice Bergen), Boston Legal tells the professional and personal stories of a group of brilliant but often emotionally challenged attorneys. Fast-paced and darkly comedic, the series confronts social and moral issues, while its characters continually stretch the boundaries of the law.

It's night. Crane, Poole & Schmidt is dark. You go back into the office to pick up work product for a case you're preparing. You flick on the lights in the conference room and catch a disheveled man using company property to comment on our firm. Take a picture and post it here before you call security to haul this guy back to Princeton and erase the board.
I walk through the hallways of the office, and no one is talking. I shake my head and go into the coffee and break room, and set a big platter of empanadas, both sweet and savory, and a big dish of Bandeja Tipica for anyone who might not have ordered lunch. Mommy always said that food is the language everyone understands. A plate of arepa pieces is on the side, covered with a cloth.
I put out plates and napkins. Then I go back to my office to finish a report for Mr. Lewiston.
My name is Chelina Hall and I am a junior associate at Crane, Poole, and Schmidt.
This last case was horrible. I don't believe Zeke deserved to die. It's not up to me though and I accept that. But if we just could have gotten him a fair trial or convinced those closed minded judges. But he's dead now and there isn't anything that can be done to change that. I can't help but blame myself. If I just could have come up with something more or if the Governor hadn't had been in Hawaii. Lots of little details that didn't turn in our Zeke's favor.
But we're back in Boston now and almost everyone here is unaware of what happened in Texas. It's like it never happened.
[private] It was just a kiss right? It happens. He was charming and exactly the right time. I was upset. He comforted me. I won't bring it up again. Besides, he does have a girlfriend. [/private]
[ooc] Around here at Crane, Poole & Schmidt, we're all about the paperwork. Contracts. Documents. Good business.
It seems inconceivable that ABC wouldn't renew "Boston Legal" for a second season. However, pressure from the show supporters couldn't hurt and petitions and letters have been helpful in past scenarios.

Please, when you sign, use your first and last name, not character names or screen names. Only your name will show, not an email address. It's important we present ourselves as real, legitimate viewers. Please forward the link to your friends and family. One signature per person.
No one is sure when the decision will come down so sign quickly. I'll work on finding the correct person to send the link to so they can watch it grow. If anyone knows that person or department at ABC, please let me know.
There is a field for 'comments'. Keep them brief and clean (ha!). Let's set our goal of 22 new stories unfolding in 2005-2006.
Shirley:'A smart attorney recognizes who he can and cannot rattle.' Alan: 'He also recognizes a good rattle when he sees one.' Shirley: 'Since I'm your boss, I can't return your sexual banter, but I will say, if I were looking for a rattle, he would be taller, he would be better looking, and he would be more evolved than a junior in high school.' Alan:'I prefer the juniors in high school!' Shirley:'He would be something other than a self-loathing narcissist with a dwarf fetish and yes, judging from what I got a glimpse of in the mirror when I first entered the room, he would be bigger...much!'
What a nice way to begin my first week back in Boston. It was nice to see some familiar faces and not so nice to see some of the new ones. Denny isn't aging as gracefully as I am, but I can't say I'm surprised by that. He's the same Denny I remember, all and all. The sound of his own name still turns him on.
Changes will have to be made. It's not an easy part of my job bu-... Who am I kidding, it comes very easily to me. They won't even know what hit them. Enough playing lawyer. It's time this firm was represented by professionals. And I'll get rid of anyone who I feel is less than.
Serena - we need to get together and plan this puppy. And would you see if you can persuade Shore to stop with the mistletoe obsession? It's making our clients nervous. If there's a way to con Alan to rap a street version of Snoop Dogg's 'G'd Up', there's a bonus in it for you. Field suggestions from the staff to make this a good one. Let's get a theme, too. How about Jingle Team? Memo - Crane, Poole and Schmidt TO: All Employees of Crane, Poole and Schmidt FROM: Bradley Chase, Serena Sutherland Subject: Holiday Party
Please be advised the CP&S Holiday Party is set for December 19. You are encouraged to invite clients and a guest. Please direct party suggestions to either Serena or myself.
On an unrelated note, your bonus checks will be distributed the following day and may reflect a penalty for inappropriate behavior at the party, Alan Shore.
It may well be the right of our Crane, Poole & Schmidt clients, and those that observe us, to take our private legal practice here in Boston a publicly viewable venue. However, Crane, Shore and I stand on our Fifth Amendment right, granted by the Constitution of the United States, that just compensation be made.
Yes, walk through our lobby.
Sure, settle in to our Villa Foscari Italian leather ottagona and be bemused by our quirky staff.
Certainly explore our Unisex.
But by all means, deposit an entrance fee with Miss Wilson. We are, after all, high-priced civil litigators in an upscale Boston law firm and Pro Bono is not on our letterhead.
And when Denny Crane walks in the room, stand and pay homage.
